Summary:The structure of 2,2'-(((2,2-dimethylpropane-1,3-diyl)bis(azanylylidene))bis(methanylylidene))bis(4-methoxyphenol)- palladium(II) was determined by X-ray crystallography analysis. It crystallizes in the space group P21/n, with cell parameter a = 12.5115(7)Å, b = 10.5337(6)Å, c = 15.0080(9)Å, β = 94.0547(19)°, Z = 4, and V = 1973.0(2)Å3. The crystal structure was solved by direct methods and refined by full-matrix least-squares on F2 to final values of R1 = 0.0415 and wR2 = 0.1251. The Schiff-base ligand was found to coordinate to the palladium(II) through tetradentate ONNO atoms forming a slightly distorted square-planar complex. Two intermolecular hydrogen bonds, C-H···O, stabilized two molecules forming dimers. © The Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry.
