Managing disaster efficiently is the responsibilities of local authorities, especially the responding agency during a major disaster within their jurisdiction. Computerized systems were identified as one of the solutions in supporting lead responding agency in managing disasters. In developing a computerized system for lead responding agency in Malaysia, several criteria are needed to be outlined to assure the usage of the developed system. Using content validity method, several computerized disaster management systems were identified with advantages and challenges are listed. It was found that nearly all of the system have similar challenges which are either for a specific type of disaster or can only be used by the specific country it is designed for. With MNSC 20 as a basis, ten (10) criteria were identified in developing a computerised disaster management system for lead responding agency in Malaysia. © 2017 American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.
