The Malaysia National Security Council Directive 20 (MNSC 20) was developed for the Malaysian community to be prepared for disaster. MNSC 20 is a policy and a policy need to be supported with proper supporting governance in order for the policy to be effectively implemented. In understanding disaster management in Malaysia, a systematic procedure for reviewing and evaluating documents which include both printed and electronic materials was conducted. By using content validity method, identified significant documents were studied and recorded to acknowledge at the contribution and the support that the document provides towards disaster management, which followed by face validity method. Findings shows that, in improving the overall disaster management environment in Malaysia, relevant agencies involved needs to provide a supportive documentation in terms of strategic disaster management. © 2016 American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.
