Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) Komuter can be described as a popular choice as mode of rail transportation especially among women passengers since Woman-Only Coach was introduced in 2010. However, there are still several complaints from the commuters in term of facilities provided and the crime occurred in the station especially towards women passengers. Thus, this study are focusing in identifying the factor influenced the crime occurrence in KTM Komuter station while investigating also on the facilities available. Apart from that, customers' perception and recommendation towards the facilities featured in the station were also taken into consideration. Research was conducted by survey and on-site observation, focusing on women passengers of KTM Komuter. Questionnaires were distributed to 130 respondents at selected station which are Batu Caves, Bank Negara, KL Sentral, Petaling and Shah Alam. Data collected were then processed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Findings from the results showed that the factor of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), passengers travelling alone and no or not enough manpower for security at the station are the main contributors influencing higher number of crime rate among women passengers on KTM Komuter. Therefore, it is hope that the analysis can be used for further improvement as to increase the efficiencies and safety of KTM Komuter station. © 2016 Author(s).
