Summary: | This paper reports on the findings of a qualitative study on the constructions of integrity of public library leaders. There are five (5) main themes (attributes) of integrity found to be adopted by twenty leaders of public libraries that may affect their work performance. These attributes and their interrelatedness are explored and the Integrity Model of Public Librarians (INPUL) is proposed. The results of this study imply a refinement of government policies, and emphasis on training programs, which focus on the practices of integrity that can be implemented by libraries and government agencies, and can help other organizations with appropriate measures when trying to improve performance through integrity. Other organizations can use the model to enhance the effects of other factors so as to maintain performance at the workplace. © 2016 International Information Institute.
