Description
Summary:Building comfort has become an essential need to the user. In order to obtain good building performance and provide comfort to the user maintenance programmed plans should be based to the guideline in maintenance manual. The effectiveness of the manual can be evaluated through mechanism of Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE). POE is a mechanism to evaluate the building performance by auditing user feedbacks and it is vitally needed to ensure that building performance of either government, public buildings and facilities are sustained. By using occupants as a benchmark in evaluation, the potential of improving the performance of building is enormous. The feedback result in this study shows that both maintenance manual and POE are very important to owner especially for residential building. Both mechanisms help owner and maintenance team to understand the building and thus improve building performance. © 2016 American Scientific Publishers. All rights reserved.
