| Summary: | Easy Access Attendance Management System (EAMS) is an attendance management system that easy to use, efficient and time saving. It had been used as prototype in Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA Malaysia to record the student's attendances for soft skills improvement program held by student affair department. The attendance record process become faster than the previous recording system as the system will scan the barcode on the back of the student's card which represents their Identification Number (ID Number) to indicate that they attend the program instead of getting the attendance list signed by the students. This also reduced the chance of the students who cheat their attendance record. The recording data can be saved as a single file which can be transferred to another computer or load by the system. EAMS also will produce full and detailed analysis of the attendance. The attendance time of each student will be recorded. The system will list out automatically who had absent for one specific program and provide the percentage analysis such as the percentage of absent students from total students who need to attend. In order to help the administration staff, the analysis can be exported into Microsoft Excel document file for further administration work such as report writing. The Microsoft Excel file that contains a list name of students can also be imported to the system in order to create a list name that used for attendance record which will save time instead of adding each student's detail one by one. EAMS had been used in most of the faculty's program and get positive feedback from students and staff. © 2014 IEEE.
