Summary:The objective of the paper is to identify the factors and principles of soft skills and emotional intelligence which is lacked among the junior executive and is the primary cause of leadership failure in business organization today. This paper examines the gap, characteristics of soft skills and emotionally intelligence. It further highlighted the needs, systematic and step-by-step experiential approach needed to assist individuals to develop positive personal attributes and to take charge of their live. This paper suggested thatsurvey should be carried out to ascertain the needs to integrate soft skills and emotional intelligence. A leader soft skills and emotional intelligence are the major factors in what makes a high-performance team or organization. Developing emotional intelligence and soft skills takes work and practice just like any other behavior modification. The uniqueness of this paper lies in its attempts to analyse characteristics and ways to hone soft skills and emotional intelligence which contribute to a well developed workforce where the rewards are tremendous for the organization. © 2012 IEEE.
