Summary: | It is crucial to understand the effects of safety to spectators and public in an outdoor stadium facility in any sport events. Therefore, the spectator's safety is a major responsibility in heavily used public facilities. Activities at the stadium will influence the management operational planning i.e. risk and facilities management. The management includes all measures to facilitate the movement of the players and spectators. Generally, any buildings whether existing or newly built are subject to design defects, possess hazards or flaws in the design which could affect the safety and health of its occupants. The aims of this paper are to study the safety and health aspects in the outdoor stadium and provided facilities. In order to achieve the aims, there are two objectives, firstly to identify the outdoor stadium facility and safety measures; and secondly to investigate the spectator's safety awareness to the associated risks. The methodology includes literature reviews and semi structural interviews and case study. The results and findings will be critically analysed using SPSS version 2010. © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
