This plant was developing to use in extraction of essential oil based on steam distillation column. The characteristic of steam distillation pot were indicated by perform the step test toward data collected from this plant. This test was conducted to observed dynamics of heating process for each power setting on induction heating system in range 800W to 2000W and to obtained process time delay(Td), time constant(Tc), and settling time(Ts). With this information, the FOPDT transfer function for each power setting was develop. From the analysis perform, the best power setting choose for this system is 1600W with fast response process with Tc equal 920 and give economic meaning for this process. © 2011 IEEE.
