Summary:Teaching and Learning of Science and Mathematics in English or PPSMI were implemented in January 2003 by Malaysian's highly respected former prime minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad. PPSMI is an essential agenda which not only created to improve English proficiency among pupils but to elevate learning and achievement levels in Science and Mathematics among Malays and Bumiputera especially those from the rural areas. This paper tries to explore the impact of PPSMI implementation in the vicinity of tacit knowledge among UiTM Kedah university students' with the intention to determine the effectiveness of this program whether or not it helps these students improve their skills in the area of English language and have a language competence in academic achievement as the subjects taught in universities speaks and writes in English language. © 2010 IEEE.
