Description
Summary:The performance of Mobile IP in a Wireless Network is a key feature in the successful implementation of Mobile IP. An important performance criterion in Wireless Mobile IP Network is Transmission Delay. Transmission Delay is an arbitrary measurement of how long it takes an interface to serialize the maximum size of a packet that an interface can accept onto the physical media. This paper presents a study of Wireless Mobile IP and Core Network performance in term of transmission delay and tunneled traffic during forwarding and receiving data packets operation. The results achieved are based on simulation and the comparison of two scenarios of Mobile IP model in a wireless network. It also consists of the internetworking forwarding to the wireless network against the mobile communication equipment. ©2006 IEEE.
